It was alright
I think it was the quality of the VENUE that made the event enjoyable for me. I was eagerly anticipating this event! Nas didn't perform many radio hits, and it would've been nice to hear MORE of his NEW ALBUM. Dahlak Brathwaite's set was on point, but only real Nas fans would appreciate it. My bf, who isn't a Nas fan, didn't enjoy it as much.
We were both HIGHLY disappointed with Lauryn. She REMIXED EVERY SINGLE SONG, and none of her songs were ORIGINAL. A BIG MAJOR TURNOFF was that she seemed to be freestylin' a lot during her performance. Sound was off, and the backup singers and band were trying to keep up with her and read her signals. 50% OF THE CROWD STARTED LEAVING 15 MINUTES INTO HER SET!! So much so that we were able to skip AN ENTIRE SECTION and sit closer.
I'D DEFINITELY GO AGAIN, only because of whose performing, NOT THE PERFORMANCE!
